Waking the Sleeping Giant
Okay, folks, it's been one week since the sobering shock of defeat in the 2008 presidential election. I've been waffling, trying to identify where to focus and shake the malaise which has had me in a chokehold. (I think our wonderful site admin., Shane, has been having similar feelings.)
In another thread a few of us have talked about where to go from here. The discussion has been good, but it hasn't been widespread throughout the membership. We've talked about changing the focus to a more general view of conservatism, and not identifying with any particular candidate. On the other hand, some have recommended putting our money on the table and naming our candidate quickly - in order to build the momentum that'll be needed for the battle of 2012. And I've been in agreement with all suggestions - until now.
We can find plenty of sites and blogs devoted to conservatism - Rush, A. Coulter, Hannity, Mark Levin and on and on. So I've come to the conclusion that yes, we need to start building our candidate for 2012 - Governor Sarah Palin. If she decides to run, she'll have to declare in a couple of years, and to do that, she'll have to know that she has the grassroots support in place to make a viable run.
If we ARE going in that direction, I support the name change recommended by Julia -"SarahPalinforPresident2012.net."
So now we want to pose the question to you. This can't be a unilateral decision. There will be a lot of work ahead and we need to count on research, news and opinion contributions of a large membership encompassing all 50 states. So please vote in this poll. Tell us your thoughts - and then start recruiting new members.
Thank you,
Carla

Please send out an e-mail if the site name changes. I look forward to doing whatever I can to put this intelligent, classy lady up front in the GOP. Just where she belongs.
Go Sarah!

Sarah Palin for President
Okay, count me in for focusing on getting Sarah into the Presidency.
I do have one thought, though. I think it might be a toss up whether it should be 2012 or 2016. One thing that hasn't yet been discussed is that we will be experiencing yet another financial crisis in 2016, which is the first year the baby boomers start taking their mandatory withdrawals from their Roth IRA's and will tank the market all over again. 2016 sounds like another year of great opportunity for change.
Also, I notice the media started making excuses for Obama as soon as he was elected. Lots of stories about how he's not going to make many changes after all because of this and that, this and that. So, I don't yet have a feel as to whether voters will be anxious to boot him out in 2012 or if the sympathy card will be played and they will "feel his pain" and give him another try. Of course, there's also Hillary waiting in the wings for, what?, perhaps the 2012 slot? If she waits until 2016, she will be almost 70, and that might not work for the voters.
So, I don't know if there's much of a realistic chance for a Republican in the 2012 election.
I could be wrong, these are just my thoughts.
Perhaps the domain name to get would be SarahPalinForPresident without the year?

Yes I am very happy that Sarah is going to have women helping her, I am so mad with all these women putting her down, sarah has been through so much and just because she accepted to run with John mc Cain. These woman in my opinion envy her. I am willing to help, I will love to see Sarah in the White House, and I will support her 100%. What I do not understand is why some republicans are also against her, I think is the people that want Mit Rotney for president.

It doesn't matter to me either way what the name of the
group is called:)
I just love this group with all of you ladies and gentlemen
And If she does plan on running her self and seek
the POTUS I plan on being there and supporting her
OR is she would be some one's VP choice again
Either way I love her and support her
